SPORTING EVENTS IN MARINA D'OR
The privileged geographical and natural conditions of Oropesa del Mar, strategically located between the sea and the mountains, offer endless possibilities for active tourism. Many of them take place in the Sierra de Oropesa, a majestic set of mountains which, as well as offering beautiful panoramic views of the numerous fields of crops in the town, has several trails that will allow you to exercise while you discover the flora and fauna characteristic of the area.
MEDITERRANEAN EPIC 2022
Once again this year the most important race that Marina d’Or hosts is taking place.
The Mediterranean Epic offers you a 4-day UCI race where you will enjoy mountain biking not only during the routes, but also during your stay in Oropesa del Mar – Castellón (Spain).
From 10 to 13 February 2022 you will be able to feel and enjoy the spectacular Mediterranean climate.

Mediterranean Epic Gran Fondo 2022
A cycling tour to discover the province of Castellón in the best possible way. Starting from the spectacular coast of Oropesa del Mar, in just a few kilometres you will be enjoying mountain passes that are over 1,000m high. You will enjoy cycling like never before.
208km or 112km. Choose the challenge that best suits your abilities. Two routes on which you will enjoy spectacular mountain passes with views that you will never forget. But don’t be overconfident, as they will require you to give your all to achieve your goal! The date is 7 May and registration is open now here.
EPIC TRIATLON 2022
On 28 May 2022 you have an unmissable date if you love sport. The triathlon that will mark a before and after comes to Oropesa del Mar and Cabanes.
From the 9th of November, registrations open for the great sporting event of the year.

TRIATLÓN SPRINT OROPESA DEL MAR
The municipality of Oropesa del Mar, in its bid to become a sports venue, is preparing to host the sixth edition of the Sprint Triathlon, an event that will take place on 18 September.
The event will feature the supersprint modality for all those who want to get started in this sport, the supersprint, which will consist of 300 metres of swimming, 6 kilometres of cycling and 1.5 km of running, a perfect distance for beginners in triathlon. And the more experienced athletes will be able to take on the sprint modality: 750 metres swim, 17 kilometres bike and 5 kilometres run. In the supersprint distance, athletes from the cadet category and up can compete.
Registrations can be made through the oficial web page of Federació de Triatló de la Comunitat Valenciana. It should be recalled that the test will be carried out following all the security measures established to comply with the anti-covid protocols.
10K Nocturno Oropesa del Mar
As every summer, we get a classic within the popular races of Oropesa del Mar. With its time trial format, the Night Run counts towards the Circuito de Carreras Populares de Oropesa del Mar. The next event is on 9 July 2022.
The ROUTE of the race consists of FIVE KILOMETERS (5.000 m). The CIRCUIT runs entirely along the Greenway, starting in Torre Bellver and finishing in Oropesa in El Pinaret (final part of the Greenway). This distance, NIGHT RUN and totally flat circuit makes the race very popular and affordable for everyone.

Travessia Platges d'Orpesa
The Travessia Platges d’Orpesa is one of the star sporting events of the summer in Oropesa del Mar. It consists of a 1,492-metre swim starting from the northernmost point of the shore of Playa de la Concha beach and finishing in Cala del Retor. It is aimed at everyone from 12 years of age onwards, and in all its editions it has the participation of swimmers from different clubs in the province of Castellón and the rest of Spain.
Marcha serra d´Oropesa
On 22 May 2022 the IK Vertical and the Cursa Serra d’Orpesa will be held, sporting events aimed at endurance athletes.
The IK Vertical is organised before the Cursa Serra d’Orpesa, and consists of a one-kilometre route with a positive gradient of 120 metres in sprint mode, starting at the southern part of the Via Verde del Mar tunnel and finishing at the Mirador.
The Cursa Serra d’Orpesa is a race that counts towards the Circuit Terrasfalt, with a 19-kilometre route, which, starting from the town, crosses paths and tracks of the Sierra de Oropesa, offering spectacular panoramic views to the runners taking part.
SAN SILVESTRE OROPESA DEL MAR
The traditional San Silvestre Oropesa del Mar is held every 31st December. It is a popular race aimed at participants of all ages, impregnated with a family and festive atmosphere. Special prizes are awarded to runners with the most original costumes. The race starts and finishes in the Plaza Mayor, passing through the most central streets of the town. The total distance of the race is 4 kilometres, which are run over two laps of a 2 kilometre urban circuit.
